My People

Eric is my husband. He is one of the most amazing people I know. He loves Jesus and he loves me and our kids. He has the incredible quality of having confidence and humility. He has no problem admitting that he is wrong or doesn't know something and is always willing to ask questions. Because of this he has an enormous wealth of knowledge and you would never know it because he doesn't feel like he needs to tell you all of it. He's passionate and energetic. He understands that to be like Christ you need to be a servant and he serves humbly and in many ways. He doesn't boast over what he does for me and the kids. He just does it lovingly and faithfully. I'd like to say that Eric is a hard worker but that would be a huge understatement. He's one of the hardest workers I've ever known. He works nonstop at work and still comes home and works more around the house and with our kids. Eric is also a wonderful person to know. When he talks to people he makes them feel important. I say that not because he fills their heads with empty compliments but because he is genuinely interested in what they are talking about and what they think. If you are interested in water polo, great. Eric would love to learn. If you are interested in weather patters, excellent. He's all over that. He allows himself to grow from other people and learn from what they say. I love that man. He's also a hunk. He's strong and manly and I love him. I feel safe when I'm with him and I love his deep, dark eyes.

Zechariah is my 2 1/2 year old son. His full name is Zechariah Miller Thayer (Zechayayah Fayer if you ask him). Zechariah is a joy to have around. He's mischieveous and has earned the nickname of 'Demo Boy' because of his ability to demolish or redecorate anything given the opportunity. He's a sweetheart. He's rough and tumble with our belongings but tenderhearted and caring with people. He's a fabulous brother and a darling son. He is kind and giving and is starting to become wonderful at sharing. He has dark skin, hair and eyes like his daddy and really does look a ton like Eric. You could lose yourself looking into his gorgeous dark eyes and his lips always look like they're crying for a kiss. He's a pro when it comes to the art of cuddling and he often climbs into our bed when he wakes up so he can get another hour of sleep while spooning with mom. I love that little guy.

Emily Jane is my almost one year old daughter. She is a little beauty with deep, exotic eyes and gorgeous ringlets in her brown hair with natural red highlights. She is sweet and seems old for her age. She learns quickly and seems to be observing all the mistakes her brother makes (not sure if she's watching so she doesn't repeat the same things or so she gets away with it better!) She loves her daddy and lights up every day when he walks in the door. She has an incredible laugh that can soothe a weary soul and her smile is especially awesome because her first top teeth are one to the right (she doesn't have the left front tooth yet) and I love her crooked little smile. She is feminine, dainty and elegant but still tries to keep up with her big brother by climbing on everything in sight.

We have another child too but this baby is still hanging out with mommy full time right now. We don't know as much about this one. We don't even know their gender. But we do know that we adore this little one and he or she is truly a gift from God. We are positive this baby is going to fit in beautifully with the rest of our family and after we meet them we will realize that they were the piece of our puzzle we never knew was missing.

We praise the Lord for the gifts in our life. We have been more blessed than we deserve and sometimes I can't believe all that I have. We are busy and loud and crazy and loving and passionate and huggy and kissey and family and laughey. We are not OK with being stagnant and are always trying to be more like Christ. Because of his love we can be better parents, spouses and children than any of us are able to on our own.
